The CREST Simulator reduces the costs associated with testing and developing new systems by providing you with an on demand service to test your back office systems as if you are connected to CREST. Once connected to the Simulator, no booking of trialling slots is required; the Simulator provides consistent daily access. It provides 100% DEX compatibility for all supported message versions. It offers full transaction, reconciliation and file change processing. Transactions can be auto matched by the simulator or matched by conventional dual party input.

HOW DOES IT WORKS
The service is operated and maintained by Safe Financials Limited and deployed over the internet, using the secure SFTP file transfer protocol. Connectivity information can be found here
You can manage your own test data using our internet enquiry tool, the SimGUI.
New versions of DEX messages are implemented ahead of CREST which allows you to test your upgraded systems prior to CREST trialling. When training environments are linked to the CREST Simulator, the realism is instantly improved.
Simulator environments can be reset to allow trainers to use the same example pack numerous times.
The system is operational, on business days, from 05:30 to 20:30.
